Whew, we made it through the first months of the new year. Have you started any new projects or created new habits? Have you implemented new ways of thinking or new daily routines? Although it is still early in the new year it is helpful to create a habit of checking in with yourself. This simple practice can help you stay motivated and organized with your goals. Here are 3 simple ways to check in with yourself to ensure you’re on the path to success.
Have monthly check-ins. As projects or new habits begin to take full force it is easy to get caught up in the mundane or get tunnel vision. Dedicating time to double-check your work and reviewing routines is a helpful way to ensure all progress is completed effectively. Similar to a monthly meeting within a company, it is just as important to check-in internally to ensure you’re in a healthy state of being and on track with your goals. If you find any discord in your routines, this would be a good time to make adjustments or improvements. This is how we grow and get better at daily tasks.
Seek advice. When starting something new, we personally tend to keep our aspirations to ourselves to prevent any negativity towards our goals. As we get things rolling, it is easy to get caught up in our own ideas and visions. Although it is smart to keep ideas to yourself, it is also helpful to seek insight from close friends and family. Choose to confide in people who believe in you. Receiving an outside perspective can help broaden ideas and encourage new beginnings. Obviously, if the advice received is not in alignment with your goals, then you can simply discard the advice and move on. When seeking outside advice, it’s important to be mindful of the information you are receiving. You are in control of your discernment. You decide what is good for you and what isn’t.
Celebrate accomplishments. Personally, this is the most important tip to keep the momentum flowing with your goals. Celebrating accomplishments brings awareness to how far you’ve come. It’s time for your favorite treat or activity. Celebrating accomplishments is a great way to cultivate positivity around your goals and give you the motivation to continue to accomplish more.
We all are striving to be better individuals. Instead of stressing over simple tasks, we can implement these simple practices to improve our well-being. While looking at the bigger picture, focus on the little things that make a big difference. Remember to be grateful, stay positive and celebrate your wins. We all deserve recognition from time to time.
The simple fact that you exist guarantees that you deserve the very best. You are enough!!
